Susie (named by rescuers) we were contacted by a couple who had been
given Susie.
They had recently lost their elderly dog and were not looking for or
ready for another dog.
They had not rescued a Greyhound before, only cross breeds.
A member of their family knew of a Greyhound owner or trainer,
(information not quite clear) who wanted to offload Susie not long after
her last race at Yarmouth.
The couple felt Susie was very timid and scared if anyone walked behind
her and felt she would suit a home with someone more used to rescuing
Greyhounds.
Although we found Susies racing history from her ear tattoos, we could
not find the information for her last owner or trainer.
Luckily we had a foster home for Susie, well known to us and we felt
would be ideal for this very timid Greyhound.
The foster carer was able to pick Susie up from the couple and settle
her in with her other rescued Greyhounds, one being Bobby who had
recently joined her hound family ( see: BOBBY dogs homed Greyhounds).
Susie benefited very well with the company of the other Greyhounds, the
couple she came from visited her and were so pleased to see how happy
she was and far less timid than when she was one her own in their home,
so a good outcome all round.
Susies foster carer decided she would rather give Susie her forever
home, where she could finally settle into a happy secure future.
