RUBI
Sex/colour: Female White
D.O.B. approx 2007
Breed: Lurcher poss Saluki-Whippet cross
Came to AfG: October 2009
RUBI was looking for a home as her ‘owners’ claimed they were moving to
a property with a ‘no pets’ policy.
We had a foster home available for her, so were able to arrange to
collect her.
We were given a large cage as we were told she was not house trained so
was kept in the cage when alone in the home.
We were told, Rubi was neutered, fully vaccinated and had been treated
for internal and external parasites, though we did not receive any
previous veterinary records.
Rubi was very timid and underweight.
We had a suitable foster home for Rubi where she would hardly be left
alone so the fosterers agreed with us, the cage was not needed.
Rubi enjoyed her meals and got used to her routine of going into the
garden several times a day for toileting etc.
Rubi was soon house trained.
We soon found a permanent home for Rubi, as adopters Fran and Tim had
sadly recently lost AfG Greyhound Abby (see: ABBY- Greyhounds homed), as
they always had two rescued hounds they did not want Scooby to be on his
own ( see: SCOOBY(1) Other Sighthounds).
Rubi met Scooby on the park, they had a great run around and played and
Rubi even started bossing Scooby about.
Rubi soon settled into her forever home with Scooby they went on to
enjoy many adventures together.
Rubi blossomed into a stunning hound.
Photos below show Rubi when rescued and meeting Scooby on adoption day,
