FRAGGLE
Sex/colour: Male Blue
Breed: Bedlington Whippet cross
Came to AfG: June 2015
FRAGGLE came to AfG as we had a suitable foster home for him.
The lady who had him, did have several dogs at her property, some living indoors some out.
We believe she also bred dogs at the time.
Claiming she was ‘down sizing’ she needed homes for some of her dogs.
We do not often come across whippets and small Lurchers who are looking for homes but did know a family who had previously asked us if we do ever have any needing adoption.
So Fraggle was introduced to the other 2 hounds in the home, Bedlington x Whippet Mortimer and Terrier Eric.
All went well and Fraggle settled into his new home.
We took him to our vets to start his vaccination course and have a cyst inside his nose checked.
There were only scant veterinary notes transfered to our vet and only covering the issues with the nasal cyst.
We saw Fraggle was neutered and did not know when or who had neutered him.
We believe, as Fraggle seemed used to a home environment and children, he may have been bred by the person who signed him over, sold, then been returned ( which would explain his familiarity with living in a home and being used to children etc).
Medication was prescribed for Fraggles nasal cyst and it disappeared without return.
The family were concerned that their little terrier Eric was very old and may not be with them much longer and worried Mortimer would be left without a canine companion.
However, Fraggle although bonded with both, he was always found to be following and snuggling with Eric, the family felt Fraggle had given Eric ‘a new lease of life’ and in the future it was Mortimer who sadly passed before Eric.
Later, Fraggle was joined by another Bedlington x Whippet, Arthur.
As seen in the photos below, Fraggle and Mortimer were ‘mirror images’ of each other and the photo with Eric, showing just how eager Fraggle was to snuggle with Eric even squeezing into a little bed to be next to him.
Fraggle was fortunate to have a large enclosed garden to be able to race around to his hearts content, as well as enjoying his long walks.
