BUBBLES (previously named Fizz by AfG), was believed to be age 4 to 5
months when she came into the care of AfG.

We were contacted by a lady who had acquired Bubbles after seeing an
advert for puppies for sale in a shop window.

The lady picked the puppy up from what she described as a traveler site,
being told she was 10 weeks of age and the last one from the litter.

Among several dogs on the property, the lady was shown a brindle
Greyhound who was supposedly the mother of the pup.

After a short while, the lady said she had found it hard to give the pup
the care she needed, so as AfG had a suitable foster home for a pup, she
was signed over.

We were surprised to see how small the pup was, as she looked more like
a pup of her breed at age 8 weeks not for age 4 to 5 months.

She had a pot belly and was very underweight with dull fur and flaky skin.

The lady said the pups appetite was poor but she found she liked cat
food, so that what she was feeding.

Also (alarmingly) the pup had been eating snails from her garden.

Our vet carried out a thorough examination on Bubbles and did blood
tests as she was as concerned as we were with her size and condition and
suspected she was full of worms.

Bubbles had contracted heart worm, so was prescribed medication
immediately.

Luckily over the weeks which followed, a further check up and another
blood test, Bubbles was clear of worms, her appetite had improved
immensely and she her overall condition quickly improved with a
nutritious diet and plenty of proper care.

Bubbles settled into her foster home well as she had the company of
children and adult dogs.

She enjoyed lots of adventures and often accompanied AfG on events where
she received so much public attention, keeping people amused with he
comical antics.

It was at one of our events, she was spotted by a family who were
besotted with her and asked if they could be considered to adopt her.

So a homecheck was arranged with introductions to their resident hounds,
a Bedlington cross and a terrier  all which went well.

Her adopters chose her name Bubbles.

We watched this gorgeous youngster continue to blossom into the stunning
hound she is today, thanks to the fantastic home and life she has.

Bubbles later became best friends with another AfG Greyhound ( see:
PATCH dogs homed Greyhounds) who found his forever home with a family
who were friends of Bubbles adopters.

The photos below, show the journey Bubbles made from the sickly pup she
was when she came to AfG.

Bubbles has featured on 2 AfG calendars, (shown in the photos above)
