POPPY (2)  came into the care of AfG  from Ireland, with a Greyhound
pup  (see: PATCH  dogs homed,Greyhounds).

Poppy was estimated to be about 12 to 14 weeks of age.

We were able to take both pups as we had a suitable foster home for them
to go to together, with a lady who had ample experience of rescuing dogs
and other animals and the time to meet all required care puppies need.

Poppy was seized along with many other animals, as a result of a police
(Gardai) weapons and drugs raid.

All animals seized were placed into  various safe rescue care for homing.

Once the relevant vet treatment and paperwork was completed, transport
was arranged for both pups to come to AfG.

Both pups joined other adult dogs and cats in their foster home and
thoroughly enjoyed their new experiences and adventures.

Once their 2nd vaccinations were complete, they could venture further
with playing, running and meeting people and other dogs in various parks.

This great foster home was able to give them all the important
socialisation needed at their important stage of life.

Poppy found her forever home at the end of the year joining Collie
Holly, cat Max and the family tortoise.

Her home was a stones throw from the beach, so she was able to enjoy
much freedom.

One slight hitch,  1 week after she found her new home, she started her
menstrual cycle, so luckily she could stay where she was as the other
dog was a neutered female.

Three months later Poppy was neutered.

Another lucky hound to have been saved from a life which could have been
so bad.

The bottom photos show Poppy ( and Patch) when they arrived to AfG.
