Rosie

ROSIE

Sex/colour: Sable

DOB: January 2013

Breed; Pug x Chihuahua

Came to AfG: September 2024

ROSIE for some reason, we are not sure, found herself looking for a new
home.

We were told she was age about 10 or 10 1/2 but once her microchip
details were checked, she was in fact almost age 12.

It seems she was brought as a pup and we assume she is neutered but no
previous veterinary records have been forthcoming.

A couple who had previously adopted from AfG, sadly lost their dear
little Whippet cross Lily recently and were hoping to rescue another
little hound.

So it seemed Rosie would be ideal for them and once they met her,
luckily she was perfect for them.

With overgrown nails and a mouthfull of rotten teeth and finding it
uncomfortable to eat ( especially as Rosie just loves food)  we soon had
her essential dental treatment done.

Once booked in for her pre dental check, the vet was happy Rosies heart,
lungs and breathing had no issues and pre op bloods checking internal
organ function were all good too.

The vet feels with Rosie being part Chihuahua, she has luckily not
inherited the short nose with associated breathing issues from her ‘Pug’
side.

She is such a happy go lucky, charming little character, he is sure she
will have several happy healthy years ahead of her.

When AfG are able to take into our care, little hounds such as Rosie if
we have a suitable forever home for them, we place them into permenent
foster care, whereby a hound can live out happy years in a forever
loving home with AfG funding all their care.

So of course little Rosie is besotted with her carers as are they with her.

Rosie loves her food (limited to a balanced healthy diet…otherwise she
would eat all day!).

She goes on lots of varied walks, loves the beach especially and
everyone who meets her just loves her.
