ARCHIE

Sex/colour:    Male    FawnBrindle

D.O.B:   approx  2009 to 2010

Breed:   Lurcher   poss Greyhound-Saluki cross

Came to AfG:   December 2013

ARCHIE  had finished his statutory period at the stray kennels and as
AfG had a suitable foster home, we were able to take Archie into our care.

He was of course classed as ‘an unclaimed stray’ for the fact ( which is
often the case) he had no collar or ID tag when found and his microchip
was not registered to an ‘owner’.

Judging by Archies poor condition, it was obvious he had not been well
cared for  over a long period and had likely been used for illegal hare
coursing.

Archie soon settled into his foster home, given plenty of nourishing
food and treated for fleas and was happy with the company of another AfG
adopted hound  Benson (see: BENSON Other Breeds).

There were also 2 young boys in Archies foster home, so it was great to
see he was also happy in the company of children.

Archie had a check up with our vet and given worm treatment with his
vaccination course started.

Once Archie had gained good body condition he was neutered along with a
much needed dental.

Archie had many adventures and experiences whilst in foster care so all
the socialisation and great care prepared him so well for his forever home.

Archie then settled into his forever home, again with the company of
other hounds, a rescued Trialhound and two Spinones.

Archies adopters were very active retirees, so had plenty of time to
give Archie a full active life full of adventures.

As well as Norfolk, they owned a property in France, whereby they often
went in their travel bus ( then on the Ferry) along with all the hounds.

After 3 years of adopting Archie, they all moved to France permanently.

We often receive updates on how they are all getting on 2 and 4 legs.

We are all very happy we played our part in rescuing this gorgeous
Sighthound and managed to find him the great life he deserved.
