MABLE was Age 7 when she came to AfG.

Another rescue had noticed her being given away free on an internet site
but they had no rescue space available at the time and as AfG had a
suitable foster home, arrangements were made to have her picked up from
the ‘owner’.

The reason Mable was not wanted was stated by the ‘owner’ that their
other Greyhound had passed away and they no longer wanted Mable.

Perhaps the reason was the stench from dear Mables mouth with such bad
dental disease which had obviously gone untreated for a long time, this
must have made eating hard for Mable which explained also why her body
condition was so poor.

Once Mable settled into her foster home with the company of another
Greyhound, she soon gained condition and was able to be spayed  along
with a much needed dental.

After a short time in her foster home, once Mables overall condition had
improved, Mable joined Floyd in his forever home (see Floyd-Dogs Homed
Other Sighthounds).

Sadly, sometime later, the couples marriage broke down and neither were
in a position to keep Mable (or Floyd) with Floyd being homed to mans
parents and Mable returning to an AfG foster home.

It was not long until Mable found what did turn out to be her forever
home where she enjoyed many more years of fun and adventures.

Photos below, show Mable when rescued and in foster care, later with Floyd.

Top photos show Mable featured with Floyd on an AfG calender photoed by
William Moore and later in her new forever home.
